Individual Psychotherapy

We will work together to understand patterns in your life and relationships, increase self-compassion, and build skills and resiliency. In my experience, therapy is most useful when you are able to commit to weekly meetings. Some people benefit from more frequent meetings while others are able to decrease frequency to every other week over time. My background is in psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, CBT and mindfulness. Therapy looks a little different for everyone and how we approach therapy will be tailored to your goals.

The short answer is no. My decision not to contract with insurance companies is motivated by my desire to afford my clients greater confidentiality and the opportunity to engage in therapy without a third party interfering and dictating the terms. The other motivating factor for me is my own professional integrity and commitment to this work. My experience has been that insurance companies do not value therapists’ skills or time or the long-term emotional well being of the individuals who they insure. I am uncomfortable feeling complicit in a system that does not value psychotherapy or mental health more broadly.

Do you take my insurance?

I do not contract with any insurance companies. I am able to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your private insurance company for any out-of-network benefits you might have. Submitting superbills requires a formal diagnosis.

Private Insurance

I am not able to work with clients who have Medicaid. In Colorado, providers are not allowed to accept payment for services covered by Medicaid from clients who are enrolled in Medicaid.
